Princess Ghida serves as Chair of the International Advisory Board of the Khalidi Library (or ‘al Khalidiyyah’) in Jerusalem, which houses the largest private collection of Palestinian literary and historical documents in the Levant built by Palestinians.
The Library also has a renowned private collection of Islamic manuscripts housed in an ancient building that dates back to the
Princess Ghida has served on the Board of the Institute of International Education (IIE) since February 2013. Founded in 1919, the IIE is one of the world’s largest international and most prestigious education and training organizations in the world.
In 2007, Princess Ghida played a major role in supporting the Iraq Scholar Rescue Project, a renowned program of the Institute of International Education Initiative. The Iraq Scholar Rescue Project rescued persecuted scholars from Iraq and found them safe havens at host universities across Europe, the United States and the Middle East.
Princess Ghida has served on the Board of Directors for Georgetown University’s Master of Science in Foreign Service since October 2011. Located in Washington, D.C., Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service has graduated over 3,000 students from its Masters of Science in Foreign Service program, which is recognized today as one of the most selective programs in the world.
From October 2003 – October 2009, Princess Ghida served on her alma mater’s Board of Regents. First established in 1914, Georgetown’s Board of Regents provides service, leadership and philanthropy in support of Georgetown University. The Board of Regents offers advice and counsel to Georgetown’s leadership, extends the university’s profile and assists in building programs and initiatives.
