Cancer is a global challenge that requires partnership, cooperation and mobilizations across borders. Princess Ghida is recognized as a leading voice in the international cancer community calling for increased funding for research, treatment equity and accessibility, and public awareness. She was appointed by His Majesty King Abdullah as Jordan’s special envoy to the United Nations General Assembly’s High-Level Meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in New York in 2011 and 2018, where she joined world leaders in calling for urgent and immediate action on NCDs.
Princess Ghida has been invited to deliver keynote speeches and join panels of leading experts around the world, including at the launch of the WHO’s Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Georgetown University, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation in Athens, Greece, the Clinton Global Initiative, and the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
