Amman, October 6, 2019 - Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC), the Jordan Breast Cancer Program (JBCP) launched the 4th Arab Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign under the slogan "Don’t wait for symptoms… get screened now."
Through this regional awareness campaign, JBCP, in cooperation with entities across the Arab world, unites the efforts of participating countries to reach their goal of saving the lives of women in the Arab world by encouraging them to pursue breast cancer screening immediately.
During the ceremony, HRH Princess Ghida stated: “I would like to highlight our most important partners, who believe in our mission, offer their efforts, credibility, and creativity, and stand as pillars of support for the Jordan Breast Cancer Program’s many achievements. I extend my personal salutation to every survivor and volunteer who has joined us in the field and dedicated herself to encouraging other women to get early detection screening. And I call upon every woman in our country to prioritize her health, and not hesitate to undergo a simple, quick examination - the early detection screening - which may save her life.”
The participating countries for the 2019 Campaign include Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon, Egypt, Algeria, Libya, and Sudan.
The Campaign launch also marked the opening of JBCP’s 2019 Multidisciplinary Workshops at the Kempinski Hotel in Amman. The Multidisciplinary Workshops are a biannual JBCP initiative aiming to improve the quality of early detection services, enhance the capabilities of professionals working in the field, and inform them of the latest relevant scientific developments
