Amman, October 21, 2019 - HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC), signed a Memorandum of Understanding with H.E. Dr. Hilal Al Sayer, Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), to renew the ongoing agreement between KHCF/KHCC and KRCS. Through this agreement, the Kuwait Finance House (KFH) will provide a generous grant to fund the treatment of Syrian refugee patients receiving treatment at KHCC.
The signing ceremony was attended by H.E. Mr. Aziz Al Daihani, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, H.E. Dr. Mohammed Mutlaq Al Hadid, President of the Jordan Red Crescent Society, and Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish, KHCF Director-General.
Princess Ghida thanked KRCS and KFH for their generous support of KHCF and KHCC’s mission, expressing her appreciation for KRCS's humanitarian role in alleviating the suffering of cancer patients.
For his part, Dr. Al Sayer stated: “We are proud to see our cooperation with KHCF and KHCC enter its fifth year.” He added that KFH’s generous donation will be allocated to treat Syrian refugees suffering from cancer, and alleviate their costly financial burdens. He emphasized the keenness of the KRCS to provide relief and humanitarian support to Syrian refugees, praising the advanced cancer care available at KHCC and its superlative reputation across the region.
During the signing ceremony, the delegation was taken on a tour of the Center which showcased the level of treatment provided to patients. The guests also met with patients and visited the pediatric playroom.
