Amman, January 15, 2020 – HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC), honored the recipients of the KHCF Journalist Award, which is dedicated to spreading awareness on tobacco control and the early detection of breast cancer.
During the ceremony, attended by Minister of State for Media Affairs Amjad Adaileh, Princess Ghida said: “You took the initiative, and have confidently walked alongside us towards a conscious society that is fully aware of its rights. Today, I stand before you, proud of your accomplishments, gratified by your distinction, and confident in your continued support for KHCF and KHCC.”
The KHCF Journalist Award in the category of early detection is sponsored by the Housing Bank for Trade and Finance for the ninth consecutive year, and is dedicated to raising awareness among women about breast cancer and reaffirming the fact that early detection saves lives every day. Princess Ghida honored Mr. Ammar Safadi, Housing Bank CEO, for the bank’s exclusive sponsorship of the breast cancer award.
The KHCF Journalist Award in the category of tobacco control is sponsored by the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company “Jo Petrol” for the seventh consecutive year, and highlights the importance of combating smoking in all its forms, as well as the dangers of nicotine addiction. Princess Ghida honored Eng. Abdel Karim Alawin, JoPetrol CEO for the company’s sponsorship of the tobacco control award.
