Amman, November 2018 - HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC), signed a grant agreement with Mr. Suleiman Al-Herbish, Director-General of the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID). Through the grant agreement, OFID will support KHCC in the purchase of state-of-the-art medical equipment for the Center, strengthening KHCC’s efforts to maintain the highest levels of medical excellence.
HRH Princess Ghida expressed her gratitude for OFID’s generosity, stating: “The support we receive from OFID helps us save patient lives every day. We truly value this empowering partnership, which advances our mission of providing the best treatment to our cancer patients from across the Arab World.”
In this context, Mr. Al-Herbish praised the agreement between OFID and the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC), and highlighted KHCC as one of the best comprehensive cancer centers in the Middle East region. He also expressed his appreciation for the humanitarian role it plays through dedicated programs to support the treatment of underprivileged cancer patients.
Mr. Al-Herbish added that the agreement comes as part of a broader effort to achieve the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and more specifically the goal of ensuring healthy lives and promoting wellbeing for all.
The signing was attended by KHCC Director General Dr. Asem Mansour and KHCF Director General Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish.
