Amman, August 2017 - HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC), signed a memorandum of understanding with the Jordanian climbing champion Mustafa Salama, under which he will launch a new expedition to climb the highest peak in Europe, Mount Elbrus. The expedition will be launched under the Foundation’s "From the Lowest Point to the Highest Point for Cancer" initiative to raise $1 million for patients at the King Hussein Cancer Center.
HRH Princess Ghida thanked Mustafa Salama for his continued support for the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center, saying: "We are proud of Mustafa Salama for being the first Jordanian to raise the flag of Jordan on the highest seven peaks in the world, and the first Jordanian to climb Mount Everest."
Mustafa Salama said: "Supporting the King Hussein Cancer Center and conveying its message to the world is a humanitarian duty for all Jordanians. I am proud to re-launch this initiative to help save the lives of cancer patients and give them hope."
