Amman, April 2018 - HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC), signed a project grant agreement with the European Union in Jordan under the program of the “EU & Civil Society: Continued Partnership for Development and Human Rights". The funding agreement will support the implementation of a new Jordan Breast Cancer Program (JBCP) initiative entitled: “Blended Learning and Behavior Change for Local Development.”
The agreement was signed by H.E. Mr. Andrea Matteo Fontana, Ambassador of the European Union in Jordan.
HRH Princess Ghida thanked the European Union for supporting the JBCP and stressed the importance of initiatives and projects supporting the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer, which will help save the lives of thousands of women.
Mr. Fontana underlined the significant role shouldered by civil society to promote sustainable development and women’s rights in Jordan, adding that the EU recognizes civil society organizations as development actors in different areas of focus.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Asem Mansour, KHCC Director-General, and Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish, KHCF Director-General.
