Amman, September 2016 – Her Royal Highness Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF), has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Emerging Markets Payments/Jordan (EMP); by virtue of which the company would donate a total sum of Ten Thousand Jordanian Dinars (JD 10,000) annually for a period of three years towards the new expansion project of the King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC). Representing EMP Jordan at the signing ceremony was Mr. Hassan Mayassi, CEO.
“I extend my gratitude and appreciation to EMP for their continuous support of cancer patients, and for leading by example, as demonstrated by this generous donation, which carries a significant impact on our efforts in the fight against cancer”, stated HRH Princess Ghida in this respect.
On his part, Mr. Mayassi asserted that, “Our support of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation emanates from our unwavering belief of the noble role it plays in treating and serving cancer patients, while giving them hope for life. This initiative comes as an integral part of EMP’s corporate social responsibility, and its commitment to assist civil society institutions in enhancing the quality of healthcare provided by the Kingdom.”
It is worth noting that EMP had donated a sum of Fifty Thousand Jordanian Dinars (JD 50,000) over the previous five years to benefit the new expansion project of the King Hussein Cancer Center which consists of two new buildings that complement the current building of the Center and is extending over an area that is threefold the current area.
The new expansion project aims to expand the capacity of KHCC in accommodating patients and providing them with comprehensive cancer care as well as reducing the number of patients on the waiting lists.
The ceremony was also attended by Ms. Nisreen Qatamish, Deputy Director General of King Hussein Cancer Foundation.
