Amman, November 2018 Under the patronage of HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC), the First International Conference on Cancer Care Informatics launches in Amman. The three-day conference is organized by KHCC in collaboration with the University of West England, Bristol, attracting an attendance of over 150 scientists, researchers, technical experts and health workers from across the globe.
The opening ceremony marked the launch of the joint KHCC and University of Jordan Master’s Program in Cancer Care Informatics, the first of its kind globally, which aims to increase the number of qualified experts in this rapidly evolving field. Additionally, an agreement was signed by the King Hussein Cancer Center and the University of West England Bristol to facilitate a number of collaborative projects and studies in the field of cancer care informatics, with the goal of enhancing the breadth and depth of knowledge in this increasingly vital field.
HRH Princess Ghida Talal commented on this tremendous milestone for cancer care informatics, saying: “This momentous conference is proof of the high levels of medical advancement in Jordan, especially in the field of health informatics. Launching a Master’s Program in Cancer Care Informatics is a manifestation of our commitment to playing a leading role in the development of this critical sector.”
In addition to the launch of the Master’s Program, the conference will result in the publishing of research papers on cancer care informatics via the largest electronic library for information technology (IEEE Xplore).
