Amman, February 17, 2021– Upon the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, Her Royal Highness Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center, announced that KHCC will establish a branch in Aqaba (KHCC Aqaba) to serve cancer patients in the Southern part of the Kingdom, and which will bear the name of King Abdullah II.
The branch will be managed by highly qualified medical staff and will provide the most comprehensive treatment to cancer patients in southern governorates, including chemotherapy treatment, radiology, early detection screenings, and endoscopies, and it will be equipped with a laboratory, a pharmacy, and specialized clinics. The center is set to begin receiving patients in 2023.
“KHCC Aqaba embodies King Abdullah II’s great concern for cancer patients all over the Kingdom to receive the most advanced cancer treatment available at the Center that bears the name of our late King Hussein,” Princess Ghida stated.
Opening the Aqaba branch is aimed at easing the burden of commuting on cancer patients seeking treatment in the south, while also offering them treatment in line with the latest international standards.
